David Hurst Thomas is the author of the award-winning book Skull Wars: Kennewick Man, Archeology, and the Battle for Native American Identity, which traces the relationship of anthropologists with indigenous peoples. He is Curator of Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, repository of one of the world's largest collections of Indian artifacts and remains. Thomas is a Founding Trustee of the National Museum of the American Indian and a member of the National Acadamy of Sciences.
