Howard
Vogel is professor of law at Hamline University School of Law where he has
taught since 1975. Trained in both law
and theology, Professor Vogel’s current work is devoted to exploring the
possibilities of restorative justice to address the legacy of the historic
injustices of land theft and slavery which provided much of the foundation of
American prosperity in an effort to heal the continuing harm from that is the
legacy of these practices so that all may flourish beyond the burden of the
past. He will be speaking about restorative justice in the context of the Dakota-U.S. War in 1862 and the ethnic cleaning that followed in 1863.
