Who Are We? Where Are We Going? The University of Georgia’s main campus, where the meeting will occur, is located in Athens, Georgia, approximately 75 miles northeast of Atlanta. Athens is served by Ben Epps Airport, a small commercial and general aviation airport. Though fairly convenient, there are only a limited number of flights daily, all by US Airways, connecting through Charlotte, NC. This is often a good option for those traveling the Eastern corridor, although it may be more expensive than flying into Atlanta. Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, approximately a 90-minute drive from the UGA campus, is the main airport servicing the Athens area. All major carriers fly into Hartsfield, though the greatest number of flights are Delta, which hubs there. Shuttle and Car Services AAA Airport Express (404-767-2000; toll-free 800-354-7874) offers shuttle service between Athens and Hartsfield-Jackson. The cost one way is $45, with vans running approximately every 1.5-2 hours. Reservations are required, and booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance is recommended.
