Who Are We? Where Are We Going? The sessions and other major events of the meeting will take place on the campus of the University of Georgia, Athens, at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. The Georgia Center will also be the main conference hotel. Ninety-three (93) rooms have been reserved at the Georgia Center for the meeting from Wednesday, April 9 until April Saturday, April 12. Current conference rates for these rooms range from $89-99 for a standard room and from $139 for a suite. These rates are subject to change, and the rates in effect at the time of the meeting will be the rates charged, though we do not anticipate more than a 5% change. An additional 107 rooms have been reserved at the Holiday Inn, several blocks from the Georgia Center. The current conference rate for reserved rooms at this facility is $96. Once again, these rates are subject to change between now and April 2008. The two hotels are a short walk apart. A shuttle will operate between the Holiday Inn in Downtown Athens and the Georgia Center. Reservations at either hotel may be made by calling 1-800-884-1381. The reservation number operates between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday. When booking, identify that that you are coming for the Native American and Indigenous Studies meeting. The Downtown/Campus area is also served some distance farther away by a number of other hotels and motels, ranging from moderate to luxury. These tend, however, to fill up fast in Athens.
